Marian ADCON - 8 channel AD/DA-ADAT converter £291.00

Great value ADAT digital light A/D D/A Standalone Converter

The ADCON is 1/2 19'' rackmount ADAT converter with 8 balanced inputs and 8 balanced outputs - state-of-the-art technology at an unbeatable price.

The ADCON comes with 2 adjustable low-noise Microphone pre-amp with phantom power on the front and 8 balanced inputs/8 balanced outputs and ADAT digital I/O on the back. The A/D and D/A converter are 24-bit which together with the optimized design give professional audio quality.

In More Detail

The MARC A optical digital ports operate with the common ADAT format. This way data can be transferred using eight channels at the same time with 24-bit and up to 48kHz into and from the PC. The MARC A can be operated as both, record slave and play master, enabling Marc A to work and record simultaneously as clock master.

All the MARC cards have multi-client drivers with extremely low latencies (down to 2 ms at 96kHz) with ASIO, GSIF and DirectSound, making them especially suitable for time critical applications, such as Soft synth and Samplers like GigaStudio, Reason, Halion etc.

MARC A hardware is ready for the next generation ASIO-IN-HARDWARE feature. This will enable direct access to the cards memory giving even better performance using any ASIO recording software including Cubase, Cubase SX, Wavelab 4, Nuendo, Ableton Live etc. This feature will be available fully functional with future driver updates.

The ADCON also includes Automatic Clock Detection, High Precision Clock Recovery plus Dual Clock Support allowing the output to work as slave to an incoming digital clock and/or as clock master by using the internal clock.

The ADCON is an ideal solution for high quality Multi I/O for PC and Macs when used with any ADAT interface such as MARC A, RME Hammerfall, Frontier Design Wavecenter etc.

Features

8 analogue inputs/8 analogue outputs

  • A/D and D/A work with max. 24 Bit/48 kHz.
  • Signal-to-Noise A/D: 104 dB(A)
  • Signal-to-Noise D/A: 114 dB(A)
  • THD: 0,005%.
  • Frequency response: 20-20.000 Hz

Inputs and outputs are individually switchable between -10 dBV and + 4 dBu. The ADCON automatically recognizes whether a balanced or non-balanced cable is used and adjusts the level accordingly.

ADAT-I/O

  • 1 optical ADAT input and 1 optical ADAT output with eight channels each.

2 Microphone preamplifiers with phantom power

The analogue inputs on the front side are identical to the analogue inputs 1 and 2 on the back side. They are especially suitable for microphones. It's possible, to insert 1/4" TRS plugs as well as XLR plugs into the input jacks. The range of the level control decreases accordingly. The level ranges from +5 to +45 dB (XLR) and - 15 to + 25 dB (jacks).

Analogue Ports 16 x 6,3 mm 1/4 balanced TRS jacks (gold-plated)

  • Sample format: 24 Bit
  • Input and output level: - 10dBV; 4dBu
  • Input impedance: 10 kOhm
  • Output impedance: 600 Ohm

2 combined inputs XLR/TRS jack balanced

  • Sample format: 24 Bit
  • Input impedance jacks:: 20 kOhm
  • Input impedance XLR: 2 kOhm
  • I/O level: + 5 dB to +45 dB (XLR),
  • 15 dB to +25 dB (jacks)
  • Phantom power 48 V
