The Direct Pro 24/96 is the first hard disk recording system to feature 4 balanced inputs, each with its own high-quality mic pre-amp. The input sockets are cleverly designed to accept both XLR connectors and 1/4" jacks. It also has four balanced outputs, two unbalanced outputs, S/PDIF input and output as well as MIDI I/O for the complete integrated sequencing solution. In addition the 24/96 has onboard studio-grade DSP processors to add effects to your mix with zero latency.

The Direct Pro 24/96 was at the forefront of the emergence of the “all-in-one” computer recording revolution. Always thinking ahead, Aardvark was able to produce the very first computer hard-disk recording interface featuring four (4) high quality discrete mic preamps. Hand designed mic preamps of this quality often come with a very high price tag. Aardvark is breaking new ground by providing this technology plus many more great features, in an affordable computer recording interface.
The Direct Pro 24/96 is equipped with studio quality DSP-based effects, which allow for monitoring with effects while recording without any latency, similar to monitoring with outboard effects processors. This latency is unavoidable when using plug-in effects or native software effects on input. These effects, integrated within the powerful DSP mixing software, provide a real-time, high-quality recording environment that rivals the real-time performance of outboard compressors, 3-Band EQs and outboard mixers. The DSP powered 24/96 Control Panel mixer software provides many of the features of an automated digital mixer. It includes a Drag-n-Drop digital patchbay, digital peak metering, VU meters, Record FX switch and Presets for snapshot recall of any setting on the entire Control Panel mixer. The 24/96’s superior sound quality comes from it’s low jitter clock, shielded 24 bit/96 kHz converters and uniquely shielded PCI card, all of which are specifically designed to keep out computer noise.
The front panel of the Direct Pro 24/96 features (4) balanced 1/4" analog inputs and a convenient headphone jack for easy monitoring while tracking, overdubbing or mixing. The Rear panel has (4) balanced 1/4" analog outputs, (2) unbalanced RCA outputs as well as MIDI I/O to provide seamless audio and MIDI integration between hardware and software. Digital S/PDIF I/O on the 24/96 host card allows for true 24 bit stereo digital transfers in and out of the computer.

It even has an invariable phantom power supply so you can use it with the world's best microphones.
Universal Inputs Our clever inputs will accept any XLR Mic input or 1/4" Line input with a 3-stage analog trim adjustment of up to 70 dB (that's more than a mixer!). This lets you go directly from any microphone right into the Direct Pro 24/96 and also completely avoids the noise and hassles of extra cables & connectors.
DSP Compressor Add professional punch to your bass and drum tracks to get a massive sound that rivals that of the world's top professional studios. Almost any track comes alive with the smooth and natural sounding circuits that are included in the Direct Pro 24/96, completely eliminating the need to buy an outboard compressor.
DSP Multi-Band EQ A transparent 3-Band equalizer with a professionally sweepable mid-range allows you to control your sound with an accuracy that even expensive outboard mixers can't beat. And because the Direct Pro 24/96 does it with DSP & software, you can save your settings as presets to make demoing EQ's as easy as point and click.
DSP Reverb All of the classic sounds of an expensive outboard reverb unit are included, complete with the style and finesse of different rooms around the world. The Direct Pro 24/96's lush, natural-sounding reverb gives you three ambient settings characteristic of a quiet room, a large hall or even a Classic European style church to make you sound like you never have before.

Mono Rack The 2U Mono Rack is a 2 space, 19" rack plate/rack tray enclosure that gives your Aardvark PC audio gear a truly professional look. The 2U Mono Rack will mount one Aark24, Direct Pro LX6 or Direct Pro 24/96 breakout box flush in the center of the 2U rack.
Dual Rack The 2U Dual Rack will mount two Direct Pro LX6, Direct Pro 24/96 or Aark24 breakout boxes side by side in the same 2U rack!
